Off To The Movies

Do you want to take an adventure into the amazon in hopes that a crisis will come up and you'll save the day? What about an epic journey into space against an unknown villain? Or what if you could travel the world for your true love? I could go on. I won't,  because I think my point has gotten across. Films are our gateway into worlds that we'll never get to experience....

I wrote this because I have heard the debate that movie theaters aren't worth the money, and I'd like to put an end to that debate or at least try and persuade a few to come to my side. The general argument is that red box costs a dollar and a theater can cost anywhere from 5-15 depending on preferences. It's a solid point. But how well does watching movies at home go? From crying babies, to barking dogs to just the wrong environment...watching movies at home can be difficult and a pain. One can't give a movie the attention it deserves, some movies at least. 

Life is difficult. Not all the time, but it can be. So why not take a break from reality? That's what the theater offers me. Sitting in a chair with nothing but the big screen in front of me, I get lost in what is being shown. I relish in the adventure, I adore the unique personalities and it's best if it's on as big a screen as one can get.

We get characters that can be so extraordinarily normal that we see many parts of ourselves within them. On the other side, we can see people who are so special and unique that we can't help but get lost in their roles. These are the features that make movies so great. These are the reasons why I love going to the theaters.

    Beyond the film reel, nothing matters. One gets to completely enjoy a world where everything ends the way we'd want it to (usually). Unfortunately, life doesn't get wrapped up with a pretty little bow. So when we get an opportunity to forget our world and to see one that gets brought to life through the big screen, I'd say seize it. Introduce a little bit of fiction to your day.
