Mods range from textures and models to complete stand alone content that could be its own game. But of course you aren't interested in the technical stuff, you want some real world examples...
The next Call of Duty game comes out in November! If you're not saying "another one?" right about now, I don't know what's wrong with you. The Call of Duty franchise has had a new game released almost every year. Somehow, they have avoided the adjectives, "repetitive" and "unnecessary". With that in mind, I have to admit that this is a welcomed and highly necessary upcoming addition...
Thanks to Dorkly (via Joystiq) we see what it would be like if Mega Man gained a Portal Gun. Granted, this is nothing we'll ever actually see, but with the cancellations of Mega Man Legends 3 and Mega Man Universe, this is the closest we'll get to new Mega Man action this year. (Damn you Capcom!) So enjoy this Mega Man fans, it's the only good thing to happen to the series since Mega Man 9 was released in 2008.

What is The Old Republic (TOR) you ask? It's the massively multiplayer online role playing game (MMORPG) being collaborated along with Lucasarts. And this my friends, will be a Star Wars MMO done right. (I'm looking at you Star Wars: Galaxies)
Gaming is not life, contrary to the popular stereotype of our generation. While I will be the first to admit that my love for gaming goes beyond just a man with a controller; I know that 6 plus hours a day might be a bit excessive. How much do we really need video games? Do they honestly do anything for us? I seem to be pondering these questions more and more everyday....
